Sustainability Policy

Policy Statement

The Casey Group recognizes that our business activities have a direct and indirect economic, environmental and social impact on the communities in which we operate.  The Group is therefore committed to minimizing this impact through the use of sustainable development techniques at every stage of our operations.

We will focus in particular on corporate social responsibility practices as our response to the challenges set by the need for  sustainable development as defined by the Brundtland Report to be ‘development which meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs’.

Aims

  1. To comply with and exceed where practicable all applicable legislation, regulation and codes of practice.
  2. To integrate sustainability considerations into all of our business decisions.
  3. To minimize the impact on sustainability of all company activities.
  4. To ensure that all staff are fully aware of our Sustainability Policy and that they are committed to its implementation and improvement.
  5. To make suppliers, clients, contractors and sub contractors aware of our sustainable management practices
  6. Set and monitor relevant measurable sustainability objectives.

Objectives

The Casey Group considers that sustainability should cover economic, social and environmental issues and we will implement practices that actively promote economic security, social betterment and environmental stewardship through continuous improvement of performance in these areas.

Implementation

The Casey Group will implement the Sustainability Policy by focusing on five core areas.

Health and Safety

To ensure the health and safety of the Group's workforce and those who come into contact with our operating sites and products. This is underpinned by The Casey Group Health and Safety Policy and associated documents, The Casey Group OHSAS 18001 Health and Safety Management System, The Casey Group ISO 14001 Environmental Improvement System and the Casey Group ISO 9001 Quality Management System.

Environment

To minimize negative impacts while taking steps to protect and enhance the natural environment. This is underpinned by The Casey Group Environmental Policy, The Casey Group Contractors and Sub Contractors Environmental Rules and The Casey Group ISO 14001 Environmental Improvement System.

Customer Care

To offer our customers a consistently high quality product and service. This is underpinned by The Casey Group Quality Policy and The Casey Group Customer Care Policy and The Casey Group ISO 9001 Quality Management System

Employees

To educate, train and motivate staff to work in an environmentally responsible way and to encourage them to play a full part in developing new ideas and initiatives. This is underpinned by The Casey Group Contractors and Sub Contractors Environmental Rules, The Casey Group ISO 14001 Environmental Improvement System, The Casey Group Equality and Diversity Policy, The Casey Group Local Employment Policy and The Casey Group Training and Development Policy and The Casey Group ISO 9001 Quality Management System.

Supply Chain Management

To encourage manufacturers, suppliers and contractors through appropriate specifications to develop and supply environmentally preferable goods and services in line with a sustainable framework. This is underpinned by The Casey Group Supply Chain Policy and The Casey Group ISO 14001 Environmental Improvement System and The Casey Group ISO 9001 Quality Management System.

Policy Review

This policy is reviewed annually by the Group Directors and was last reviewed in November 2011.
