Deputy Mayor visits site of new £3.8m development in Salford

Cllr Tracy Kelly, Deputy City Mayor and Lead Member for Housing, Property and Regeneration at Salford City Council, joined Great Places Housing Group to view progress on the site at a new £3.8m development at Highfield Road in Little Hulton.

Cllr Kelly, was joined by Great Places’ Chief Executive, Matthew Harrison and Executive Director of Growth, Helen Spencer on a tour of the site which will include supported housing for adults with learning disabilities and two and three bedroom houses for affordable rent.

Great Places has worked in close partnership with Salford Adult Services to realise the development. The two blocks of bespoke designed supported housing will provide homes for eight residents, and includes a communal dining area, outdoor amenity space and onsite staff accommodation. The supported accommodation also has an enhanced specification to ensure it meets residents’ long-term needs, enabling them to thrive in a place close to family and friends.

Delivered in partnership with Casey, the site for the development was acquired from Salford City Council and the scheme will be funded through Homes England, Greater Manchester Combined Authority, Salford City Council...
