Creating space, Creating Impact: Supporting the Royton Community
As our New Build team nears completion of 46 new homes for Great Places Housing Group in Royton, we’re proud to reflect on a meaningful community partnership that’s grown alongside the development.
Located at Vaughan Street, the site borders two busy roads and presented some early challenges—particularly with parking. SS. Aidan & Oswald Church generously stepped in, offering their car park for our team’s use throughout construction. In return, we wanted to give something back.
Working in partnership with the church, our team regenerated two neglected outdoor areas, transforming them into green, welcoming spaces for reflection, connection, and community use. We also installed a new parish sign, cleared overgrown planters, and laid the foundations for a rose memorial garden.
On Friday 4th July, we joined the church and local leaders to celebrate the official opening of the transformed space. The ceremony, led by Bishop John Arnold and Deputy Mayor Brian Hobin, brought together parishioners, schoolchildren, and residents for a moment of shared pride and purpose.
