Erneley Close, Passivhaus

Casey completed two maisonette blocks at Erneley Close, Longsight, which has given a remarkable facelift to the area, whilst providing equally dramatic energy savings for residents and making it a destination of choice. The blocks have been refurbished to the Passivhaus EnerPhit standard. The term Passivhaus refers to an advanced low energy construction standard for buildings that provides excellent health and comfort conditions being both cool in summer and warm in winter with minimal heating or cooling requirements.

Grey Mare Lane

Casey were appointed by One Manchester to retrofit 150 homes, in a project which will serve as a pilot for a wider programme of decarbonising 12,000 properties in the area. Initially, Casey undertook a pilot scheme of three properties in Gorton, East Manchester, and one of the successes of this was the team’s agility in the programme design.

Morecambe Bay Academy

When Morecambe Bay Academy’s boiler and plant room suffered a major failure, its equipment was found submerged under 1 metre of floodwater. As the system was responsible for heating the whole building, the school needed to urgently: • Explore the extent of the damage • Understand its options for a new longer-term procurement solution
