Improving lives

Consistently important throughout our history we have maintained the belief that to be sustainable, we have a responsibility to look after our environment and our people. Set up as a family business with strong family values, we continue to maintain a strong ethos of encouraging every person across the company to achieve their potential and contribute to our success and our company purpose of “Improving Lives”.

Working hard to make people's lives better

The Casey policy has always been to support the growth and prosperity of our communities. We believe we have the responsibility to give back and make a positive difference in the communities in which we live and work, recognising that when communities thrive, individuals and businesses do, too.

Employee participation is crucial to ensuring that social contribution activities are truly meaningful. Accordingly, we encourage our employees to be aware of social issues, strive constantly to deepen their understanding and to come together and contribute to our local community participating in fundraising initiatives, community projects and other activities.

Support for local people

We are committed to tackling unemployment and labour market inactivity by creation of jobs, skills, training and volunteering opportunities and by providing better quality of jobs in terms of pay and progression opportunities, particularly in the areas in which we work.

We work alongside employment support groups in the local areas to provide people with advice and guidance to help them navigate a route towards a sustainable and rewarding job or a return to education or training.

Social Value

We have a dedicated Social Value Team who work with our clients and local community representatives to help them understand how Casey can help them meet their social, economic and environmental objectives. They offer a proactive service, helping to guide clients through the process and get the most out of each project delivered.

Sustainability

We promote a culture of responsibility, competence and compliance when it comes to sustainability and protecting our environment, continually striving to eliminate or minimise the impact of our operations.

Wellbeing

The wellbeing of our employees is a key priority, and we place high importance on supporting them with internal wellbeing events, access to an Employee Assistance Programme and provision of Mental Health First Aid training, creating a culture where all our colleagues feel supported and able to speak openly.

Committed to reducing our carbon footprint

The environment is a top priority for Casey. It has been at the heart of our business since the very beginning. We recognise that climate change poses a significant risk to the global economy and to society as a whole. As a construction company, we understand the impact which our operations may potentially have on the environment and that a better, more prosperous future is intrinsically linked to the well-being and health of our planet.

We work to reduce emissions by managing our own operations as efficiently and sustainably as possible and promote working practices to comply with current environmental legislation and best practice. We are committed to achieving net zero emissions.

Doing our bit

From the introduction of our eco-friendly fleet to use of low emission fuels and the adoption of a hybrid working scheme, we are continually investing in and implementing new initiatives aimed at carbon neutrality. Our construction sites recycle and re-use materials wherever possible and always examine our operating procedures to find solutions which meet environmental challenges, whether these be energy usage, waste generation, low-carbon material usage and transport/mileage considerations.

In 2023, we launched our “Green Team”, a cross section of our employees who are tasked with identifying ways to further reduce the environmental impact of our operations and facilities, continually improving and fine tuning our approach to achieve net zero emissions.

“I’ve been reflecting on the incredible things we’ve done to support some of the most vulnerable people and organisations across our communities over the last 12 months. Without your generous support, this wouldn’t have been possible and as one of our valued suppliers, I wanted to say a huge thank you.

Through your social value contribution, we have provided life changing opportunities, support and services to customers and organisations across our communities and those impacted by the pandemic.

Your generous support means a lot and together has helped us to achieve some life-changing outcomes, which help those most in need across the communities in which we work. Thanks again and keep up the good work”
